New York Rangers Change Mind About Players Wearing “Pride Night” Uniforms

As TTR recently reported, Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov enraged radical leftist bullies but inspired millions more Americans by standing up for his beliefs by resisting pressure to wear a “Pride-themed” sweater on “Pride Night.”

Amy Furr at Breitbart wrote, “Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov chose not to wear the gay pride jersey the team sponsored for its gay pride night game, citing his Russian Orthodox religion.”

Provorov said, “I respect everybody. I respect everybody’s choices.” But, he explained, “my choice is to stay true to myself and my religion.”

Now, an entire NHL team, the New York Rangers, has joined Provorov’s cause. According to FOX News, “The New York Rangers celebrated their seventh annual Pride Night Friday, but there was something noticeably missing from the celebration. After previously advertising that the team would wear pride-themed jerseys and use rainbow tape in warmups, players did neither.”

The issue has nothing to do with legitimate Gay Pride. This is about being pressured to support a radical leftist version of Gay Pride. As “pride” indicates, LGBTQ+ people are proud of who they are and want to express their pride, which is their right in America. But forcing or pressuring others to promote LGBTQ+ pride over the players’ pride in their beliefs is sociocultural and political tyranny.

Holding a “Pride Night” isn’t enough for radical leftist LGBTQ+ bullies. They’re unhappy unless they can force, pressure, or even “cancel” people who “won’t wear the ribbon.”

Though the Rangers organization advertised players would wear the “pride jerseys.” Ironically, it was a Russian, Provorov, whose courageous stance for American liberty apparently inspired the NHL team to revise their plans.

The New York Rangers provided this statement to FOX Digital News: “Our organization respects the LGBTQ+ community, and we are proud to bring attention to important local community organizations as part of another great Pride Night. In keeping with our organization’s core values, we support everyone’s individual right to respectfully express their beliefs.”

The NHL fanbase is considered one of the most traditional or conservative among America’s four major professional team sports.
