Alleged Epstein Victim Files Suit Against Prince Andrew

Combined Shape

Prince Andrew, A.K.A. The Duke of York is the second son of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen of England. Prince Andrew is officially ninth in line for the throne. He is also in the middle of a sensational sex scandal.

Virginia Roberts Guiffre has long accused Prince Andrew of sexually assaulting her. On Monday, she filed a lawsuit.

The civil lawsuit alleges that the prince sexually abused Guiffre on three separate occasions when she was 17-years-old, leaving her with extreme and long-term damage.

It states, “Prince Andrew committed sexual assault and battery upon Plaintiff when she was 17 years old. As such, Prince Andrew is responsible for battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress pursuant to New York common law. The damage to Plaintiff has been severe and lasting.”

According to the suit, the first time the abuse happened, she was forced to have sex with Andrew at the London townhouse of Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged madam, Ghislaine Maxwell.

In July 2020, Maxwell, a British socialite, was arrested on a six-count federal indictment alleging that she and Epstein trafficked underage girls to be molested by them.

The second incident occurred in early 2001 at Epstein’s New York mansion. The lawsuit states:

“During this encounter, Maxwell forced Plaintiff, a child, and another victim to sit on Prince Andrew’s lap as Prince Andrew touched her. During his visit to New York, Prince Andrew forced Plaintiff to engage in sex acts against her will.”

The third alleged encounter is supposed to have occurred on Epstein’s Caribbean private island. Roberts claims Epstein, Maxwell, and Andrew threatened her into engaging in sexual acts with the Duke.

Allegedly, Andrew not only knew Guiffre’s age but that she was a victim of sex trafficking, forced to perform sexual acts with him.

The lawsuit also states that Roberts “feared death or physical injury to herself or another and other repercussions for disobeying Epstein, Maxwell, and Prince Andrew due to their powerful connections, wealth, and authority.”

Prince Andrew has vehemently denied all allegations since they began surfacing in 2019.

The Duke denied even knowing Guiffre when he was interviewed by the BBC in November, saying that the well-circulated picture of Maxwell, himself, and Guiffre may be doctored.

The picture shows the three together, Andrew having pulled the young girl close with his arm around her waist. His hand can be seen low on Guiffre’s hip.

Though he claimed at the time that he would cooperate in the investigation into the Epstein scandal, the Queen’s son has been anything but helpful.

Since this is a civil suit, Prince Andrew won’t be extradited to the United States, and at this point, it’s unlikely he’ll ever step foot on American soil. If the case turns criminal, however, he will have extreme difficulties avoiding extradition.

Only the Queen and her immediate household receive diplomatic immunity to avoid extradition, and her son Andrew does not qualify because he doesn’t live under her roof.

That won’t stop Guiffre’s attorney, Sigrid McCawley, from holding the Prince accountable for his actions.

In a statement to CNN, McCawley said that “the filing of this complaint proves that irrespective of power, privilege or even being a prince, no one is above the law in the United States, and all perpetrators of abuse should be held accountable.”

Giuffre is asking for damages in an amount to be established at trial, as well as attorneys’ fees and other relief as the Court sees fit.

In a statement to ABC News, Roberts made her intentions clear: “I am holding Prince Andrew accountable for what he did to me.

“The powerful and the rich are not exempt from being held responsible for their actions. I hope that other victims will see that it is possible not to live in silence and fear, but one can reclaim her life by speaking out and demanding justice.

“I did not come to this decision lightly. As a mother and a wife, my family comes first. I know that this action will subject me to further attacks by Prince Andrew and his surrogates.

“But I knew that if I did not pursue this action, I would be letting them and victims everywhere down.”
