ANTI-(F)irst (A)mendment Militants Fail to Shut Down Charlie Kirk

Once again, militants from one of the most ironically named Democrat militias, (Anti-Fascist) Antifa, descended on a college campus, UC Davis, not to engage in or to defend free speech but to quash it.

According to John Sexton at HotAir, “Charlie Kirk gave a speech last night at UC Davis and, as you’d probably expect, he was not welcomed by all. A group of protesters, some of them dressed in black bloc, tried to prevent students from entering the building, vandalized the outside of the building, and smashed a bunch of glass doors.”

Pathetically, only a couple of rioters were reported arrested but only for “graffiti.” There were no reported arrests of militants who pepper sprayed and struck students with umbrellas and “slightly injured” a police officer “when someone reportedly jumped on his back and knocked him to the ground.”

Photojournalist Rebecca Brannon tweeted, “Antifa and far leftists pepper spray and hit UC Davis student with umbrellas. They’re currently blocking student pathways protesting a TPUSA Charlie Kirk event on campus tonight.”

Georgetown Law Prof. Jonathan Turley, writing at FOX News, commented, “It is the face of rising generation of censors and speech phobics that has been carefully cultivated by many in academia. Our institutions of higher education have become academic echo chambers where opposing views are no longer tolerated and preventing free speech is claimed to be acts of free speech.”

This just in: Attorney General Merrick Garland has vehemently denounced the violent Antifa militants, promising the FBI and DOJ will be prioritizing the arrests and prosecutions of the Democrat militia members who committed…. Sorry, no honest person could get that joke out with a straight face.

Prof. Turley noted Rutgers Professor Mark Bray, author of Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook, quoted “one Antifa member as summing up their approach to free speech as a ‘nonargument . . . you have the right to speak but you also have the right to be shut up.’” [emphasis added]

These true domestic terrorists are who Joe Biden, Merrick Garland, and the Democrat regime protect while zealously arresting and prosecuting peaceful political opponents it dishonestly calls domestic terrorists.
