Arizona Gubernatorial Candidate Katie Hobbs Claims Her Campaign Headquarters Was Burglarized

The Democratic candidate for governor of Arizona, Katie Hobbs, reportedly had her campaign headquarters burglarized. According to AZ Family, “Several items” were stolen from the property “sometime during the night.” While no suspects have been named, the Hobbs campaign claimed that one individual was seen on a surveillance camera approaching the office door on Monday night.

Hobbs’ campaign manager Nicole DeMont released a statement about the break-in, explaining that Hobbs and her staff “have faced hundreds of death threats and threats of violence over the course of this campaign.” She added that Lake has been “spreading dangerous misinformation and inciting threats against anyone they see fit.”

The Arizona Democratic Party claimed on Twitter, “Unfortunately, Katie and so many other elected officials are victims of threats and intimidation tactics like this. Make no mistake — this is a direct result of Kari Lake and fringe Republicans spreading lies and hate and inciting violence — and it is despicable.”

Hobbs, who is also Arizona Secretary of State, is running against veteran journalist and Trump-endorsed candidate Kari Lake. A recent poll from RealClearPolitics shows Lake leads Hobbs by 4.5 percentage points.
