The popular African American TV company BET is looking to release a new anti-white movie called “Karen” in hopes of capitalizing on the manufactured racial tensions in America. Last week BET premiered the cringe-worthy trailer, directed by Coke Daniels and starring Taryn Manning, and instantly received heavy criticism from almost every ethnicity. Many have gone as far as to say that the movie is a “complete knock-off” from the controversial movie “Get Out” directed by Jordan Peele.

Just in case you didn’t know, “Karen” is a derogatory term used by people when referring to a white woman seeming to be entitled or demanding beyond the scope of what is “normal.”

The trailer starts off by showing a black couple unpacking their belongings from their car as they move into a new suburban neighborhood. What could be described as “thriller movie music” plays in the background. The trailer then jumps to different parts of the movie to display just how ridiculous this white lady is.

When asked to describe her neighbors, Manning’s Karen character looks around, pressed to find a description before settling on, “They’re black.” Then she goes over to a table of black people to tell them to quiet down in the restaurant, saying, “If you don’t comply, I’ll tell the manager.”

The Black female lead character, played by Jasmine Burke, even refers to having a “white entitled neighbor named Karen” in the form of a question.

As the trailer continues, Karen comes with a housewarming pie as a gift into the house of her black new neighbor. “There she is, slaving away in the kitchen,” as she walks into the black family’s kitchen. Following that, the trailer rambles on, showing outdated stereotypical jokes about white women, unrealistic aggressive police officers arresting a group of black men, and even a confederate flag soap dispenser. And, just in case you didn’t get the gist, a little white girl saying, “She doesn’t like Black people.”

This trailer goes on for almost another full minute to make sure you got the point that Karen and her cop brother are full-on racists against black people for no reason.

The teaser was immediately criticized, with many people questioning how BET could be allowed to release a film that is so offensive and destructive.

“The Antifa” author Jack Posobiec tweeted in response to the trailer saying, “That ‘Karen’ trailer thing is from SNL right? No way that’s a real movie.”

Not only does this move expose BET’s desperate last-minute attempt to revive the company’s struggling viewership rating, but it furthermore proves how Hollywood has no problem capitalizing on the past traumas of black people.

Hollywood has had a long past of using certain stereotypical characters in their TV shows to get a laugh out of black people. Recently, several legacy TV companies, including BET, have been periodically switching their company narrative to please the needs of whatever social justice warriors are mad about at the time. However, it seems the days of cashing in on what was once a real issue for some black people may be over for Hollywood.

Twitter users were on fire today talking about the movie and BET with many mixed reviews.

Is what Mayor Lightfoot of Chicago means when she said people of color need more proper representation in the media?

The movie has not set a release date yet, and judging from the recent criticism; there is no telling what the future holds for this blatant form of racism against white people.
