Black Gun Rights Activists Protest Illegal Immigration in Austin, Texas

Illegal migrants

Last weekend, armed black Second Amendment advocates marched through Austin, demanding that the U.S. seal its borders and stop all illegal immigration. The Texas Capitol was the destination of the demonstrators’ “Second Amendment Unity Walk” on Saturday, which they organized through the Elmer Geronimo Pratt Gun Club. Video captured by Ford Fischer shows the protestors yelling as they marched through the streets in favor of closed borders and against immigration. The group can be heard chanting, “What do we want? “Closed borders! When do we want it? Now!”

The New York Post reports that after the demonstration, Nick Bezzel, founder of the Elmer Geronimo Pratt Gun Club, said the group isn’t against immigration but opposes illegal immigration. He explained, “A lot of times, jobs are taken away from black people because of illegal immigration. Black people are locked out from employment due to illegal immigration, so we want to stop illegal immigration so black people can make living wages.” Bezzel also stated, “There is a debt owed to black Americans who descended from child slavery,” and advocated for reparations.

The group’s calls for an end to illegal immigration come as Republican governors have sent immigrants from their border states to liberal “sanctuary cities,” including New York City, Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Martha’s Vineyard.
