Breaking News out of Washington D.C. says the Capitol is on lockdown after reports surfaced of a possible bomb threat near the Congressional Library.
The U.S. Capitol Police tweeted from their official account an update on the situation, saying, “The USCP is responding to a suspicious vehicle near the Library of Congress.”
This is an ongoing investigation.

The Capitol Police told civilians to “stay away” while they continue to secure the area. “We are monitoring this situation closely and will update this account as we get [the] information we can release,” USCP tweeted.
Gov. Track retweeted the USCP’s tweets, reporting that “buildings on the south side of the Capitol are being evacuated or sheltering in place.”

The ATF’s Washing D.C. branch announced they were “responding to assist” the Capitol Police.

Newsmax correspondent Logan Ratick said occupants were evacuated from the Cannon House Office building while reporting at 10:00 am. Ratick also stated, “Supreme Court has been evacuated. Reports of something going on outside of Independence Avenue.”
