In a press conference hoping to get more New Yorkers to get the vaccine willingly, Andrew Cuomo directed his sights on who he calls the “youthful and doubtful” not getting in line to take the vaccine. The deceitful New York governor said that there is “an attitude” among the unvaccinated New Yorkers that “they’ll be fine.”
The governor then shockingly suggested that if these “doubtful” New Yorkers don’t get the vaccine, there could be “lingering consequences.” Cuomo warned that by not getting vaccinated, New Yorkers are at risk for maybe you will get a long haul syndrome” that he admits they know nothing about but warns it could be harmful.
Gov. Cuomo then made a tone-deaf and hurtful comment considering his track record with New York nursing home residents, saying, “Or maybe you go home and kiss your grandmother and wind up killing your grandmother.”

The statement seems ridiculous since we know that on March 25, 2020, Andrew Cuomo sent a directive through the NYSDept. of Health to New York state nursing home administrators, directors of nursing, and hospital discharge planners. It instructed that due to “an urgent need to expand hospital capacity in New York State,” the department is requiring that “all NHs (nursing homes) must comply with the expedited receipt of residents returning from hospitals to NHs.”
“Residents are deemed appropriate for return to a [nursing home] upon a determination by the hospital physician or designee that the resident is medically stable for return,” the directive states. Notice it didn’t say a negative Covid test as Cuomo was busy giving special treatment for tests to his family and didn’t have enough to test nursing home residents.
This directive caused thousands of lives lost. Andrew Cuomo knew along with the rest of the world that this virus kills the elderly at a disproportionate rate, and yet he still sent Covid infected patients into understaffed nursing homes with no equipment to handle the crisis.
All the while, President Trump’s gesture, sending a naval medical ship to help New York, was sitting docked and unutilized. Andrew Cuomo could have filled the vessel with the Covid positive patients, but instead, he sent the patients into nursing homes and wrote a book claiming he successfully beat the virus.
Andrew Cuomo’s nursing home directive reportedly cost an estimated 15,000 New York nursing home residents’ lives. If Andrew Cuomo were to walk into a room full of unvaccinated people, he would still be the only “grandma killer” in the room.
