FBI Raids Project Veritas Founder and Journalists’ New York Homes

It appears Hunter Biden may not be the only Biden child keeping secrets about their father. Now, it’s Joe’s daughter, Ashley. And, it seems, once again, the Biden administration is possibly using the FBI to investigate an incident beyond its scope.

According to a New York Post report by Ben Feuerherd, the FBI served subpoenas on two Project Veritas (PV) journalists in Midtown Manhattan and Westchester County, as reported by The New York Times. Apparently, “longtime Veritas operative Spencer Meads lives…” at the Manhattan address.

The raids are a part of a federal investigation into a reported theft of Ashley’s diary. While PV has published none of the diary on its website, “another conservative website ran dozens of handwritten pages from it on Oct. 24, 2020, ahead of the presidential election….” That other site is said to belong to the National File blog.

The National File said a “whistleblower” from another news organization, which had not published it, had given the diary to them. PV said it knew where the diary was, and the “whistleblower had an audio recording of Ashley admitting…” it belonged to her. The diary allegedly suggests inappropriate activities between close family members.

The DOJ started an investigation following “a Biden family rep…” reporting items were stolen from Ashley during a burglary. This information led to the FBI raiding the PV journalists’ residences. Reportedly, two days later, the FBI also raided PV founder James O’Keefe’s apartment in Mamaroneck, New York. The New York Times was also the first to report this raid.

The FBI confirmed they were performing “law enforcement activity at his building,” which O’Keefe’s neighbors said took several hours. One neighbor said the agents knocked on the door and said, “FBI warrant. Open up.”

In a video statement released on Friday, O’Keefe announced PV was under federal investigation by the DOJ. O’Keefe said he was a “great risk” talking publicly about the subpoena issued by the Southern District of New York (SDNY). O’Keefe maintains the PV journalists did their jobs “lawfully and honestly” regarding Ashley’s diary.

O’Keefe said a grand jury subpoena DOJ cover letter requested he “voluntarily refrain from” disclosing the subpoena publicly. The DOJ said the secrecy would “preserve the confidentiality of the investigation.” The feds added publicizing the subpoena could “interfere… and impede the investigation.”

O’Keefe wonders about the DOJ’s request if “secrecy” was their true objective.

He said, “Within an hour of one of our reporter’s homes being secretly raided by the FBI, the New York Times, which we are currently suing for defamation, contacted the Project Veritas reporter to ask for comment. We do not know how the Times was aware of the execution of a search warrant at the reporter’s home or the subject matter of the search warrant, as the grand jury investigation is secret.”

O’Keefe asserts the search warrants were unnecessary since PV had previously contacted the DOJ, and they had provided “unassailable facts” that show they had committed no crimes in obtaining the diary.
