Melbourne finally ends its 262-day lockdown. Marking an end to the stay-at-home orders many around the world believed were reminiscent of Russian Bolshevism. Melburnians suffered brutal restrictions after the Covid pandemic spread from China. Melbourne’s Premier Daniel Andrews agreed to finally lift the orders after residents begrudgingly got vaccinated, finally reaching his marker of 70%.

According to the Daily Mail, Melbourne had a series of lockdowns starting on March 31, 2020, when the majority of the world’s nations decided to enact “15 days to slow the spread.”

- Lockdown 2: July 9, 2020, to October 27, 2020 (111 days)
- Lockdown 3: February 13, 2021, to February 17, 2021 (5 days)
- Lockdown 4: May 28, 2021, to June 10, 2021 (14 days)
- Lockdown 5: July 16, 2021, to July 27, 2021 (12 days)
- Lockdown 6: August 5, 2021, to October 21, 2021 (78 days)
