Ben Savage, best known for his role in the hit sitcom “Boy Meets World,” reportedly plans to run for Congress in California’s 30th District as a Democrat. The seat is currently held by Adam Schiff, who may be running for a U.S. Senate seat, but this has yet to be confirmed.
Savage’s decision to enter politics is not surprising, as he previously ran for a seat on the West Hollywood City Council. The New York Post reports he said he is running because “people have become disappointed with the direction the city is heading.”
Savage starred as Cory Matthews on the show “Boy Meets World” from 1993 to 200 and its spinoff “Girl Meets World” from 2014-2017. He graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Political Science during his acting career. He also gained experience in politics interning for Senator Arlen Specter while in college. Additionally, he recently announced his engagement to his long-time girlfriend, Tessa Angermeier.
