GiveSendGo Will Send Donations To Canadian Truckers

Christian crowdsourcing company GiveSendGo is defying a court’s order to freeze donations given to trucks and members of the Freedom Convoy.

The Freedom Convoy is a group of 50,000 truckers who are protesting the Covid-19 vaccine mandates in Ottawa, Canada. As of Thursday, the convoy racked up $8 million in donations through GiveSendGo. The convoy had previously earned donations through GoFundMe, but the platform removed the group last Friday.

GiveSendGo responded to the court order by tweeting that the government does not have the authority to control the disbursement of funds. The company ensures that every campaign will receive its funds, including the Freedom Convoy members.

Daily Wire reported, That money appeared to be in limbo as neither truckers nor donors can gain access to it, per an Ontario court order that “effectively [froze] all donations made to the trucker convoy through GiveSendGo.” The money was only frozen by the government and not seized. However, a seizure could be the next step.

“It is now a criminal offense to have any ‘dealing’ with money from donations through this platform,” according to Canadian talk show host, Andrew Lawton.

It’s unclear exactly how the donations will make it into the pockets of the truckers, as the government has frozen access to the funds. Even so, it is a welcome relief to see a company standing up for its members, despite efforts to shut them down.

  1. I’m sick of these tyrants in political office and their big tech enablers. I’m an American Negro, ADOS from a civil rights familly with a freedom riding mother. From emancipation to the present, the US did everything to my people but outlaw our 1st Amendment activities that advanced us to the present day. The idea that a black-face wearing Hitler is crushing free speech, free association is crazy. I too hate these communist, macist that have infilitrated media, politics & social media are undermining and destroying my country from within. I don’t want it in Canada too as I may have to try and immigrate there if their success continues in the United States.
