On Thursday, Governor DeSantis announced that State Attorney Andrew Warren will be suspended immediately for failing to enforce Florida’s laws.
The liberal attorney has repeatedly refused to enforce Florida’s laws regarding minor sex change operations and abortion restrictions. DeSantis’ office released a statement regarding the suspension:
“We are suspending Soros-backed 13th circuit state attorney Andrew Warren for neglecting his duties as he pledges not to uphold the laws of the state. The constitution of Florida has vested the veto power in the governor, not in state attorneys. We are not going to allow this pathogen of ignoring the law get a foothold in the state of Florida.”
DeSantis discussed how it is the role of State attorneys to uphold the law of the state and not merely pick and choose what to enforce based on personal feelings.
The interim replacement for Warren is Susan Lopez. Lopez was serving as a state attorney for the 13th Judicial Circuit. DeSantis said about Lopez, “She has the “utmost respect for our state laws”
