Blue Star Strategies, the firm linked to the Biden-Burisma-Ukraine drama, is reportedly under federal investigation for its role in allegedly lobbying the Ukrainian government. Politico first reported that “the Justice Department is investigating the work of a consulting firm linked to the president’s son for potential illegal lobbying.”
Senators Ron Johnson and Chuck Grassley released a bombshell report, in the fall of 2020, from the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs (HSGAC) along with the Committee on Finance, alleging that Hunter Biden was involved in nefarious dealings using the leverage of his father’s powerful position.
“Hunter Biden’s role on Burisma’s board negatively impacted the efforts of dedicated career-service individuals who were fighting to push for anti-corruption measures in Ukraine,” the “conclusion” of the 87-page report stated. “The vice president’s son had a direct link to a corrupt company, and its owner, State Department officials, were required to maintain situational awareness of Hunter Biden’s association with Burisma.”
The report continued, “the records acquired by the Committees also show that Hunter Biden and his family were involved in a vast financial network that connected them to foreign nationals and foreign governments across the globe.”
It is essential to highlight that the Senate report also found “Hunter Biden and Devon Archer, in particular, formed significant and consistent financial relationships with the corrupt oligarch Mykola Zlochevsky.” The report stated that “during their time working for Burisma,” Hunter and Devin’s “firms made millions of dollars from that association.” The timeline puts it “while Joe Biden was vice president and the public face of the Obama administration’s Ukraine policy.”
Four sources inside the investigation tell Politico that although “much” of Biden’s Justice Department’s “enforcement work has focused on Republicans linked to former President Donald Trump,” even the “existence of the investigation into Blue Star” shows that Democrats aren’t immune. But, of course, conservatives would likely gawk at this characterization as there is a difference in illegal and targeted attacks against political opponents and investigating fraud the entire world knows happened because the vice president is on camera telling us it did.
Citizens United gave Fox New access to emails they obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request. One email labeled “Lutsenko now likely not to go to D.C. with Blue Star, other Ukraine issue comments” was sent from former deputy assistant secretary of state for Europe and Eastern Europe George Kent to Obama administration officials.
In the emails, Kent detailed how he met Lutsenko and confirmed that Kent “has been pitched by Blue Star” but that Kent “honestly didn’t know how Blue Star was to get paid- he didn’t have funds.” Fox reports that Kent’s email conversation with Lutsenko “mentioned the various money flows from Ukraine to lobbyists that had been prominently in the news this past month, whether Manafort/Klueyev via Brussels to Podesta Group and Weber/Mercury, Yanu’s Justice Minister Lavrynovych to Skaden/arps-and Greg Caid—and Pinchuk to Clinton Foundation and the media attention being paid at present to the Kyiv/ Washington lobbyist gravy train… And he got the drift. Not ideal timing, little receptive audience, and wrong facilitator.”
George Kent claims in his emails that “Blue Star CEO [Karen] Tramantano’s pitch was that she could gain him access to high levels of the Clinton campaign.” He wrote that Tramantano’s offer “was appealing” as it would mean he would be connected to “the possible next Presidential Chief of Staff.”
Hunter and Joe Biden maintain that their actions in Ukraine are above reproach. With Joe Biden in charge of the Justice Department investigations, Conservatives wonder if “justice” can be found.
