Jan 6 Committee has “Sweeping Demand” for the Personal Records of Several Trump Supporters

Nancy Pelosi and the members of the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the United States Capitol announced yesterday, August 25, they are seeking private correspondence between President Trump and his trusted family and allies.

In a letter sent to David Ferriero, Archivist of the United States at the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration, the Select Committee claimed their mission is to examine “the facts, circumstances, and causes of the January 6th attack.”

Representative Jim Banks says this move is just a Democrat spying expedition that needs to be stopped at all costs. Rep. Banks tweeted, “Everyone should be paying attention to this. What Nancy Pelosi & Bennie Thompson are doing to spy on their political opponents is way worse than Watergate!”

The Select Committee listed their demands, which encompasses “all documents and communication,” including White House visitor logs for January 6, but said Mr. Ferriero should expect more records requests as their mission to prove Donald Trump planned an insurrection on January 6.

Recently the FBI admitted that there was no evidence that the event on January 6 was a coordinated effort to overthrow the government. A point clearly lost on Nancy Pelosi and her partisan Committee.

President Trump released a statement saying he wouldn’t play a willing participant in the political drama that Nancy Pelosi is attempting to create.

Trump said, “The Leftist “select committee” has further exposed itself as a partisan sham and waste of taxpayer dollars with a request that’s timed to distract Americans from historic and global catastrophes brought on by the failures of Joe Biden and the Democrats.”

“Unfortunately,” he continued, “this partisan exercise is being performed at the expense of long-standing legal principles of privilege. Executive privilege will be defended, not just on behalf of my Administration and the Patriots who worked beside me, but on behalf of the Office of the President of the United States and the future of our Nation. These Democrats only have one tired trick—political theater—and their latest request only reinforces that pathetic reality.”

American First defender Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green said that Speaker Pelosi “should focus on getting Americans out of Afghanistan” instead of pushing forward with the January 6 Select Committee.

The Select Committee is looking outside of the Trump Administration and is targeting conservative journalists and activists that supported President Trump.

After seeing his name on the list, censored Christian rapper Bryson Gray tweeted, “Jan. 6th committee released their list of names that need to be looked into. Myself, along with other prominent influencers, are on the list. Is this Germany?” Later on, promising that he “WILL NOT BE BULLIED OR SILENCED.”

Reporter Jack Posobiec responded to his name being on the list, tweeting that he considers the power grab to be “completely illegal,” promising his “lawyers will make short work of it.”

“These ugly communists want to go full Stalin and Gestapo as they flail about to distract from the failures of the dementia patient they got as president who even Obama called a ‘f*** up.’ Be cautious!”

Posobiec says his work exposing the inner failures of the Biden White House forced his name onto the list. “It’s clear they are after my sources. Not giving them up. Don’t care what letter they send me. It’s not happening. Not afraid to take a stand to protect these patriots.”
