Joe Biden Set to Give State of the Union Comedy Sketch: Not a Joke!

Staff preparing Joe Biden for his State of the Union Address tonight face unique challenges. That the Republicans will sit stoically while the Democrats cheer as if they’re at a Lizzo concert, they’re prepared for. Republicans may even politely boo on occasion, but Biden speech writers are ready. But what happens if Republicans just burst out laughing? With Biden, that’s a distinct possibility, even if they don’t intend it.

Just think about the possible unintentional punchlines Biden will likely deliver. For example, “The state of the union is strong!” Hilarious.

According to Axios, “The stakes are high for Biden as he emphasizes a series of accomplishments and tries to control the narrative about his administration as it faces investigations by House Republicans. Now, a balloon from China has complicated that…. Last year, Biden delivered his annual address to Congress six days after Russia invaded Ukraine, forcing his team to reorganize — and reimagine — the speech.”

Like unintentional British humor, with a straight face, Biden will tout his “series of accomplishments…” telling Americans they aren’t seeing what their eyes are showing them and they aren’t experiencing the financial challenges they know they are. It’s not funny, but some people laugh, so they won’t cry?

Biden will tell Americans how great the economy is as huge companies continue to sack employees by the thousands. Gas prices have soared, eggs and milk cost a small fortune, and more people are living paycheck-to-paycheck.

Biden will try to convince America he was tough on China by shooting down a spy balloon (funny stuff). But he’ll downplay it took him eight days to make that “daring” decision. How will Republican lawmakers keep from busting a gut? A few may even roll on the floor—maybe Speaker Kevin McCarthy (it’s better than tearing up Biden’s speech).

National Review reported, “The country overwhelmingly (62 percent) thinks Biden has accomplished very little, his approval rating sits at 42.5 percent, and four in 10 Americans are worse off in Biden’s tenure.”

Apparently, Axios is vying for to be the opening act for Biden’s comedy show. Only 40% of Americans “are worse off in Biden’s tenure?”

Now, that’s funny!
