Keith Olbermann Squirms After Backlash For Calling Trump ‘whiny little Kunta Kinte’

Following a huge backlash, Olbermann deleted the entry — while you may think he’d opt for the cowardly way out, blaming auto-correct, he was a little more creative in his excuse.

In a rush to spew hatred for President Trump, the former ESPN sportscaster dared to suggest that Kunta Kinte, the fictional slave character featured in the hit miniseries Roots, was “whiny.”

“Yes @realDonaldTrump has always been, will always be, and on the day of his bid for re-election, still is: a whiny little Kunta Kinte,” Olbermann tweeted.

The Roots miniseries was based on Alex Haley’s 1976 novel, “Roots: The Saga of an American Family,” which was an account of Haley’s family history.

After deleting the tweet, Olbermann came back with this excuse, likely usurped from one of the more vicious responses* to the original: “Just logged back in: I apologize for my previous subtweet of this. I was using an old 70’s-80’s technique for calling somebody a c*** without writing/saying c***, just using a sound-alike to call Trump a c***.”

Olbermann was responding to a clip of Trump appearing on “Fox & Friends” Tuesday morning and pointing out how different the network is today in comparison to how it covered the 2016 election.

According to the president, Fox News spends excessive time focusing on Democratic nominee Joe Biden and his surrogates, such as former President Barack Obama, than necessary.
