As if the U.S. didn’t have enough problems with its radical leftist-corrupted criminal justice system, a disturbing story comes out of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. According to Morehead State Public Radio, “An elected prosecutor in Eastern Kentucky exchanged Facebook messages with a woman promising to help her with her criminal cases in exchange for nude photos and videos.
Ronnie Goldy, the commonwealth’s attorney for four Kentucky counties, was elected in 2012, reelected in 2018, and is up for reelection in 2024. However, as reported by the Courier-Journal, the Kentucky Supreme Court has suspended Goldy, which could put a severe hitch in his reelection efforts.

The Court also said it does not have the authority to remove Goldy from office. The Constitution of Kentucky says, “elected officials can only be removed by impeachment, which is the province of the General Assembly.”
Any Kentucky citizen can offer a “petition for the impeachment of any public official….”
“In 230 pages of messages from 2018 to 2020 obtained by The Courier-Journal, Goldy told Misty Helton that if she sent him the nude images, he would talk to judges about continuing her cases and setting aside warrants.”
Aside from the apparent impropriety, observers are correct to be stunned by the staggering stupidity of this man, if guilty, whom voters keep rewarding with reelection.
According to LEX 18 News, the Kentucky Commonwealth’s Attorneys Association has expelled Goldy for misconduct.
