Marc Lamont Hill Claims He Believes All White People Are Racist

Marc Lamont Hill is a Temple University professor best known for progressive takes on his show: Black News Tonight. On a recent show, Hill had conservative Liz Wheeler on as a guest to talk about, among other things, race relations and critical race theory in schools. During the conversation, Hill made a shocking admission he believes “all white people are racist.”

In the exchange, Wheeler and Hill are in the middle of a discussion about critical race theory, and Wheeler boldly asked him whether or not he believed that all white people were racist. Instead of responding with a “No,” as would most sane, intelligent people would, Hill answered “Yes.”

He said, “I don’t know if you’re backing me into a corner with that question, but yes, I do.” Marc Lamont Hill then pushed further, saying, “I do believe that all white people are at some level, at the unconscious level, connected to racism, it unavoidable. I think all men are sexist at some level. I think that’s absolutely the case.”

All white people are racist. According to conservatives, that is the idea of the progressive left and one that will tear us apart. As soon as the clip was released on Twitter, users, including Wheeler and Hill, had their go at Hill’s racism. However, if you read the Twitter replies, people backed Hill saying this clip is taken out of context and that Hill was talking about unconscious and systemic racism.

Hill took the clip and tweeted out: “She asked me if I think all White people are racist.” Wheeler responded, “Literally believing that all white people are racist… is a racist ideology.” She then followed up to her first tweet with a second tweet, saying, “BTW, this is the type of racialized Marxism parents don’t want taught to their children in school.”

Marc Lamont Hill responded on the defense this time as Chris Ruffo destroyed him in the comment section. Hills remarked, “I also said all men are sexist. Is that a sexist ideology?”

Chris Ruffo to Marc Lamont Hill: “Now that we’ve cleared that up, the next question: are you a Marxist?”

Under Liz Wheeler’s tweet calling Hill out for his racist ideology, Chris Ruffo said, “And it’s textbook critical race theory and critical whiteness studies.” Ruffo shared a graphic showing quotes from the “two leading scholars in those fields:” Barbara Applebaum and Robin DiAngelo.

The first quote by Barbara Applebaum from Being White, Being Good stated, “All white people are racist or complicit by virtue of benefiting from privileges that are not something they can voluntarily renounce.”

The second was by White Fragility author Robin DiAngelo, “White identity is inherently racist; white people do not exist outside the system of white supremacy.”
