Michigan Democrats Delete Claim That Parents Have No Role In Public Education

Critics immediately attacked Michigan’s Democrat Party after it posted wildly anti-parent comments in a statement on the Party’s official Facebook account.

In the now-deleted post, the Democratic Party of Michigan said, “Not sure where this ‘parents-should-control-what-is-taught-in-school-because-they-are-our-kids” is originating, but parents do have the option to choose to send their kids to a hand-selected private school at their own expense if this is what they desire.”

The Party added, “The purpose of public education in a public school is not to teach kids only what parents want them to be taught. It is to teach them what society needs them to know. The client of the public school is not the parent, but the entire community, the public.”

Parents want to be involved in their children’s education. Behind the tanking economy, what students are taught in school is becoming the top campaign issue for Americans going into the 2022 elections. Democrats are facing a reported red wave and need a strong showing this election season to keep their control of the US House for the duration of the Biden Presidency.

Michigan GOP said the post was proof that Democrats see public education as indoctrination camps for their progressive ideals and said it’s time to bring #schoolchoice to Michigan elections as Republican Virginians did in the recent governor’s race.

Michigan Democrats deleted their post, issuing a statement  claiming the original post did not “reflect the views of Michigan Democrats and should not be misinterpreted as a statement of support from our elected officials or candidates.”

“We have deleted a post that ignored the important role parents play – and should play – in Michigan public schools. Parents need to have a say in their children’s education, end of story,” wrote the Michigan Democrats.

In a statement, Michigan GOP Communications Director Gustavo Portela said that Michigan Democrats admitted their guilt when they deleted their original post.

“They know they are in the wrong, and for the sake of our children’s successes in Michigan after a tough year of learning loss, parents must be involved in their children’s education,” said Portela. “There’s no ifs, ands, or buts. We want all Michigan children to have equal opportunities in education, and while Democrats disagree – parents are the key.”

  1. The unhinged liberals should understand that parents and ALL concerned voters are going to ask questions of those running for Office.
Most of the time, they volunteer their insane opinions, without provocation. After their off-the-beam comments are posted, it’s too late to backtrack.
