Minneapolis Council Member Harassed To Sign Demands

For more than 90 minutes, a mob of BLM supporters blocked Minneapolis Council member Andrea Jenkins’s car on Sunday evening, allowing her to leave only after she agreed to six specific demands.

Footage shows a vicious group of angry protesters form a blockade around the car of Jenkins, who represents Ward 8, forcing her to sign a poorly handwritten statement claiming that charges against alleged rioters would be dropped. The incident took place just outside Loring Park, where the Taking Back Pride 2021 march took place.

An aggressive woman can be heard in the video yelling and threatening the council vice president and her passenger while yelling anti-white slurs.

Jenkins, clearly agitated, decided to give in to the mob’s demands and signed the phony “ordinance.” The crowd immediately erupted in applause after the paper was signed, but the one antagonizer was not satisfied.

The angry protester also made Jenkins print her name and date on the piece of paper at the suggestion of another bystander.

The demands were:

  • A Community Police Accountability Commission
  • A reopening of all investigations into police killings
  • Dropping any and all criminal charges against protesters
  • Making all information regarding the law enforcement killing of Winston Smith public and available
  • The immediate resignation of Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey
  • “Leave George Floyd Square alone. PERIOD.”

Jenkins has recently advocated for the removal of blocking 38th and Chicago, which have already resulted in numerous dangerous civil issues endangering the innocent members of the community.

According to FOX 9, Jenkins said, “Yes, it is a place for people to heal, and also there are a number of nefarious activities that are going on that is dramatically disrupting peoples’ lives.”

The Minneapolis City Council approved a significant budget cut to the Minneapolis Police Department’s budget in its 2020 annual budget, despite a revenue shortfall that resulted in spending cuts to all major departments.

MPD was authorized to spend $8 million from its $176 million annual budget on response teams and violence prevention programs, with no funding available for police department expenses.

The budget includes funding for two new recruiting classes in 2021, and council members agreed to allow the police department to keep the same number of authorized officers (up to 888).

Minneapolis has been in the national spotlight for the last two years after George Floyd’s death and seems to have completely fallen apart since. The police departments have been completely demoralized, and the politicians are now being threatened on the street. Mob rule cannot be allowed in a democracy and is a dangerous sign of a failing country.
