Olivia Newton-John Loses Battle to Cancer at 73

Former “Grease” star Olivia Newton-John passed away on Monday at the age of 73 after losing her battle with cancer.

She’d been fighting cancer on and off since the early ‘90s. Her third and latest diagnosis came in September 2018 when cancer was found in the base of her spine.

Her husband, John Easterling, posted the announcement on her Instagram page:

“Dame Olivia Newton-John passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends. We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time. Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer.”

Olivia was best known for her iconic role as Sandy in the 1978 classic “Grease” co-starring John Travolta.
