Republicans Hand Democrats Defeat on Immigration Bill on Way Out Door

U.S. House Majority Leader Stenny Hoyer (D-MD)

“America has a broken immigration system;” and “we need common sense reform” no longer fly. These are euphemisms for people who want some degree of open borders and illegal immigration.

As Bryan Suits on KTTH 770 Radio told his listeners this morning the system is you wait in line and come in legally.

Conservatives are praising the demise of an immigration bill, “The Eagle Act,” that would have benefitted big tech and the open-borders crowd.

According to The Daily Signal, “Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif., introduced the Equal Access to Green Cards for Legal Employment, or EAGLE, Act, in June 2021. The House reintroduced it this year and lawmakers scheduled it to go up for a vote earlier this week. The House chair announced that further proceedings on the bill would be postponed, according to the House Press Gallery.”

House Majority Leader Stenny Hoyer (D-MD) made the announcement. “The House is no longer expected to complete consideration of H.R. 3648.”

Indiana Republican U.S. Rep. Jim Banks told The Daily Signal, “The EAGLE Act ignores the humanitarian crisis at our border and puts Big Tech ahead of American workers, even while U.S. citizens are still working less than before the lockdowns.”

This Act also ignores that the country is dealing with the unprecedented swarm of illegal immigrants into the U.S. Perhaps Congress is learning it’s not prudent to “fix” a “backlog of green card applications” at a time when the Biden regime has allowed millions of people to flood the U.S. illegally.

Heritage Action for America attributed the Democrat defeat to conservatives who “called Congress in droves to voice their opposition.”
