Rs and Ds on Senate Intel Committee Frustrated by DNI Stonewall on Classified Docs

Avril Haines, Joe Biden’s Director of National Intelligence

There may not be more poignant evidence of “deep state” corruption in the federal government than federal agencies “declining to show” Senate oversight members information it is their job to see.

Ever since, at least the Obama administration, when AG Eric Holder was held in contempt of Congress with no ramifications, some federal officials have felt confident they can flaunt laws and policies with impunity. After all, Holder’s contempt helped the Obama administration get away with “Fast and Furious.

According to NBC, “Senators in both parties voiced frustration after they left a closed-door briefing Wednesday with National Intelligence Director Avril Haines, who declined to show them copies of the classified documents discovered at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort and Joe Biden’s office and Delaware home. Haines also refused to discuss the sensitive material, citing ongoing special counsel investigations, according to members of the Senate Intelligence Committee who attend[ed] the classified briefing.”

Director Haines (who checked Biden’s “first woman to hold the office” box) hid behind the old “ongoing investigation” excuse to deny a congressional oversight committee’s request to see the classified documents.

When is there not an investigation to cite that inhibits federal Intel/law enforcement’s cooperation with Congress? These documents belong to the American people, and Congress represents their interests. Since the agencies can’t show the docs to every American, or even every senator or congress member, the Senate and House Intel Committees exist specifically for this purpose.

The Hill reported, “Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said he and other Republicans will hold up President Biden’s nominees until the administration shares with Congress the classified documents seized at Biden’s Delaware home and Washington office and former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.”

More than Trump’s documents, which as President, he could declassify at any time, it appears the FBI/DOJ are especially reluctant to release Biden’s documents, which as VP, he had no such authority to declassify.

But since some of the classified docs reportedly pertain to the U.K, Iran, and Ukraine, with which Biden had dealings and were tied to the Trump collusion hoax, the American people will remain suspicious and curious about their contents.
