“Socialists Are Taking Over,” Says Whole Foods Founder CEO John Mackey

John Mackey Founder/CEO Whole Foods

Whole Foods CEO John Mackey recently said, “I feel like socialists are taking over.” During an interview with Nick Gillespie (Reason.com), as reported by FOX News, he said, “They’re marching through the institutions. They’re… taking over education. It looks like they’ve taken over a lot of the corporations. It looks like they’ve taken over the military. And it’s just continuing.”

His term, “socialist,” may understate it, many believing the Left wants full-on Marxism. But Mackey doesn’t have a history of mincing words. The Guardian, back in 2013, said of Mackey’s opposition to Obamacare, “Grocery store founder shocked liberals by calling Obamacare ‘fascist,’ but he’s always been a paradox to the green crowd.”

FOX also noted Mackey “has adopted the term ‘conscious capitalism’ to describe his preferred approach to economics.” Using Whole Foods as an example, Brandon Tatum, on The Officer Tatum Show yesterday explained the difference between capitalism and conscious capitalism.

Tatum told his audience capitalism primarily focuses on the bottom line, how much money can we make. But conscious capitalism focuses on giving customers good value and excellent service and providing employees with a job they can feel a part of, with competitive pay and benefits. In this way, the success of the business is a byproduct of satisfied customers and happy employees.

About the Biden regime, Mackey said, “They’re marching through the institutions. They’re… taking over education. It looks like they’ve taken over a lot of the corporations. It looks like they’ve taken over the military. And it’s just continuing.”

According to CBS News, Mackey also has concerns about younger Americans, whom polls suggest are supportive of socialism. “‘I feel like I’ve become my father. I don’t understand the younger generation — they don’t seem to want to work,’ Mackey, 68, told Reason, saying that the enhanced unemployment benefits offered to people who lost jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic had make (sic) it hard for Whole Foods to find workers.”

As the Biden regime continues driving the national bus through the guardrails provided by the U.S. Constitution and headed toward the cliff, America could use more visionaries with such refreshing candor directed at Biden’s tyranny.
