State Department Stands Accused of Stealing Credit for Rescuing 4 Americans from Afghanistan

The Biden Administration took a massive hit for its handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Multiple reports show that Biden’s State Department was actively blocking Americans from garnering safe passage on one of the few flights leaving Afghanistan before the official deadline had been met.

The result left hundreds if not thousands of Americans left to survive in the country now controlled by the Taliban, a brutal terrorist organization. Private citizens grouped together to form rescue organizations intent on getting our citizens and their families out of Afghanistan.

Now, Cory Mills, a leader of one of the rescue organizations, is accusing Biden and his State Department of taking credit for rescuing Americans that they hand no hand in saving. Not only is Biden’s State Department not responsible for saving Texas resident Mariam and her three children from Afghanistan, multiple sources tell Fox News that the Biden Administration actively blocked their escape for weeks.

“This is an attempt to save face by the administration for Americans they left behind,” Cory Mills said. “This is a woman with three children from age 15 all the way down to two years old.”

Mills claims Biden’s State Department “did nothing to try to expedite this.”

Republican Representative Ronny Jackson, with help from Oklahoma Representative Markwayne Mullin, announced that “after two weeks and multiple life-threatening attempts,” Mariam and her family were successfully evacuated from Afghanistan. Rep. Jackson wrote, “Thank you to Cory Mills and the other patriots on his team for saving these BRAVE Americans!”

Cory Mills told Fox that although the official message from the State Department told Mariam and her family to risk the treacherous journey to the Kabul airport, the same State Department denied her entry every time. “The State Department repeatedly urged the four Americans to go to the airport gate [and] brave Taliban checkpoints along the way, only for them to be refused admission each time,” Mills said to Fox.

Mills said that after multiple attempts by Mariam and her family to enter Kabul airport before the last American plane left, “a Taliban fighter pointed a pistol at her head and warned her not to come back.”

Now that Mariam and her family are safely back in America, Mills told Fox that the attempt to take credit for her rescue by the State Department was “absolute nonsense.”

The State Department spokesperson told Fox, “The Department assisted four Americans [to] depart Afghanistan via an overland route on Monday. We provided guidance to them, worked to facilitate their safe passage, and Embassy officials greeted the Americans once they had crossed the border.”

Mills said, “The fact that they’re spinning this, trying to take 100% credit when they didn’t track this family, when they placated this family, when the mother, who was under extreme stress and extreme pressure, reached out to the State Department multiple times and got no help.”
