“The Godfather” Actor James Caan Passes Away

Renowned actor James Caan passed away on the evening of July 6 at age 82.

Caan is best known for his roles in “The Godfather” and “Elf”.

His death was announced by his family via his Twitter account. The cause of death has yet to be released, though it appears Caan may have died of natural causes.

He was nominated for an Emmy for his performance in the 1971 TV movie “Brian’s Song” and for an Oscar for best supporting actor in 1972’s “The Godfather” for his portrayal of Sonny Corleone.

The love from Caan outpoured on Twitter, including his son, Scott. He tweeted a memorial to his father that included a quote from his late father as well as a few pictures.
