As former President Donald Trump is expected to announce another presidential bid for office next week, he made it clear what will happen if America’s favorite governor runs against him.
Trump said that if Florida Governor Ron DeSantis runs against him in 2024, “I would tell you things about him that won’t be very flattering — I know more about him than anybody — other than, perhaps, his wife.”
He also proclaimed:
“I don’t know if he is running. I think if he runs, he could hurt himself very badly. I really believe he could hurt himself badly. I think he would be making a mistake, I think the base would not like it — I don’t think it would be good for the party.”
It was assumed that tensions were rising between the two men after Trump referred to him as Ron “Desanctimonious” during a Pennsylvania rally over the weekend. Trump then endorsed the governor the very next day.
He has squashed the rumors of bad blood, telling Fox News, “There’s not a tiff with me, and I’m way up in the polls.” Later during the same interview, he complimented DeSantis.
Trump also told the Wall Street Journal that the governor’s wife, Casey DeSantis, is “really running his campaign.”
Despite who may run against him, Trump is confident that current president Joe Biden will not run for president again:
“I don’t think he runs. It is inconceivable.”
