Former President Donald Trump told Fox’s Sean Hannity that he personally threatened to “obliterate” the co-founder of the Taliban, furnishing a picture of his home as proof that he could.
According to Trump, Afghanistan’s now deputy prime minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar was confused about the picture of his home, and asked why. Trump responded, “You’ll have to figure that one out…If you do anything, we’re going to hit you harder than any country has ever been hit.”
He claims Baradar called him “his excellency” and promised to obey Trump’s order, with the following 18 months free of American service member casualties.
Trump went on to berate Biden’s exit from Afghanistan saying:
“We would have had a very similar schedule, but I would have taken the military out last.”
Biden’s hasty exit cost the lives of 13 service members and, according to Trump, allowed terrorists to board planes fleeing the area.
He said, “A lot of bad people got on those airplanes. Bad people — terrorists.”
Trump also stated he would not have allowed $85 billion worth of “the best military equipment in the world” to be “left behind.”
