Conservatives are calling Kamala Harris’ recent comments, attempting to deflect her neglectful lack of an action at the Southern border, tone-deaf. The Vice President, anointed by Joe Biden as the one in charge of fixing the border crisis, has yet to travel and see for herself the devastation caused by the Democrats’ open border policy.
On NBC with Lester Holt, Tuesday morning, Vice President Harris barked and laughed as Holt lightly pressed her about the border crisis. After Harris claims that the issue isn’t Democrat messaging but rather the conditions in their home country, Holt questioned Harris, “Americans don’t see a lot of that on a daily basis.”
But, he said, “They do see at their own border; children being lowered over fences; children coming in with phone numbers stenciled on their hand, and so, the question has come up – you heard it here, and you’ll hear it again I’m sure: Why not visit the border? Why not see what Americans are seeing in this crisis?”
Kamala Harris claimed, “But we are going to the border. We have to deal with what’s happening on the border; there is no question about that. That’s not a debatable point.” She continued with her signature disrespectful smirk growing on her face, “But, we have to understand that there is a reason people are arriving at our border and ask: what is that reason?”
Harris says there is not going to be a “quick fix” of the border crisis. And that Americans “will not see an immediate return” on the Biden administration policies. “The real work is going to take time to manifest.” However, she said that in the end, “it will be worth it,” but until that day comes, thousands of illegal immigrants continue to flood the border.
Lester Holt asked Kamala Harris, “Do you have any plans to visit the border?” A pretty straightforward question that Harris seemingly finds challenging to answer. Harris responds, “At some point.” Then, after floundering for a moment, she says, “We are going to the border. We’ve been to the border. So, this whole thing about the border, we’ve been to the border. We’ve been to the border.”
Lester pushed back, reminding her and the audience, “You haven’t been to the border.”
“And I haven’t been to Europe,” quipped Vice President Harris. “I don’t understand the point that you are making,” she said, laughing. “I’m not discounting the importance of the border.”
Holt clarified that it wasn’t just Republicans asking these questions but Democrat Cueller, who has a border district, is asking for Vice President Harris to “come, you need to see this.”
Thank you, Kamala Harris, for the first of many clips to be used to push through a red tidal wave.
