Westminster College to Show Students Pornography in New Film Class

A private college in Utah will offer a course on pornography, where students will “watch pornographic films together,” according to Fox News.

Salt Lake City’s Westminster College has added FILM 300O to its catalog of undergraduate courses offered in the 2022-2023 academic year. The course description states:

Hard core pornography is as American as apple pie and more popular than Sunday night football. Our approach to this billion-dollar industry is as both a cultural phenomenon that reflects and reinforces sexual inequalities (but holds the potential to challenge sexual and gender norms) and as an art form that requires serious contemplation. We will watch pornographic films together and discuss the sexualization of race, class, and gender and as an experimental, radical art form.

The course has proved itself controversial since its appearance in news headlines around the country, most notably provoking backlash from The Daily Wire’s Candace Owens. She said in a tweet, “I thought this was joke—it isn’t.”

Students who complete the course will earn two credit hours toward their diplomas.
