What’s on Tap for Lame Duck Democrat Destruction

Lame Duck House Speaker Nancy Pelosi

This Democrat administration and Congress have inflicted an awful lot of damage in only two years, but they’re not satisfied. Now they wonder just how much more stuff they can break on their way out the door.

According to Jerrett Stepman at The Daily Wire, “Democrats are in a mad scramble to push through unpopular legislation before the clock strikes midnight on the 117th Congress.”

The lame duck session will conclude on Jan. 3rd, 2023 when the 118th Congress convenes. So, like the Democrat militias busy “Christmas shopping” in blue cities, “ransacking” businesses like the Apple Store in Palo Alto, the 117th Congress wants to see what else it can steal for its radical leftist base.

As Stepman notes, the first item smashed, with the usual Republican suspects’ help, was passing the controversial “Respect for Marriage Act,” which many believe will have “implications for religious freedom.” If this is something Americans really wanted, why would Congress need to rush it through?

Sen. Chuck Schumer

The Democrat practice of forcing contentious, hyper-partisan bills through Congress, like they did with Obamacare, “is a troubling practice….” Especially when the legislation would go nowhere when certain senators and congressmen are at risk at the polls.

Other “unpopular” targets in the Democrats’ sights are an “assault weapons ban,” with Joe Biden declaring he wants to ban all “semiautomatic” firearms, which “comprise about half of all gun sales in the U.S.”

Dems also want to amend the “Electoral Count Act 0f 1887,” which may be worth a discussion but not rushed. If the Dems support it, Americans know it’s not good for election integrity, which Democrats loathe.

Next is to pass the “Omnibus Spending Bill,” another monstrosity Americans cannot afford.

And, the cherry on top of this excrement sundae, after allowing millions of illegal aliens to swarm into the U.S., is amnesty for millions of illegal aliens.

While this legislation pertains to DACA, children brought into the U.S. illegally by their parents, might be worth a debate. But the argument has been tainted by the millions of illegal immigrants Biden has invited into our country.
