YMCA Boots 80-Year-Old Woman Who Complained About Man in Women’s Room

According to The Western Journal, “Julie Jaman, an 80-year-old woman…, expressed her discomfort and fear when she encountered a male in the women’s shower area at the local YMCA,” in Port Townsend, WA. (Pop. Est: 10,000).

Jaman’s reaction was rational, but the Young Men’s Christian Association’s reaction was not rational. The Y “permanently banned” Jaman from the facility she’s been using for 35 years, as reported by the Port Townsend Free Press.

“The YMCA’s aquatics manager, Rowen DeLuna, told Jaman that she had not ‘abided by our principles and values.’”

Jaman said there were no signs notifying guests the “shower room is now all-gender.” Olympic Peninsula YMCA CEO Wendy Bart told Jaman the posted “pride” signs were sufficient notice that men who “identify” as women will be using the women’s dressing room.

“On July 26, Jaman found herself standing naked in the presence of a male in a woman’s bathing suit. She was disturbed — to put it mildly — that a man was standing before her watching little girls take off their swimsuits.”

After asking the man if he had a penis, which he refused to answer, Jaman told the man to leave.

The Free Press obtained the police report. The officer said Jaman “heard a man’s voice and observed what appeared to be a man in a female bathing suit assisting a small female child.”

The officer seemed critical of Jaman, writing, “This ‘triggered’ Jaman, who ‘had an emotional response to a strange male being in the bathroom and helping a young girl take off her bathing suit.’”

You think?

If the man had been in the men’s room, wearing a women’s bathing suit, it’s odd, but he’s a man, so….

But being a man in a women’s room, no matter his or the Y’s irrational woke beliefs, does not make any woman irrational to complain about it.

Jaman summed it up for KIRO News Radio host Dori Monson. “Her goal now: to move the YMCA and the city to provide a pool locker room space ‘for women and children who do not want to mix it up, for their dignity and well-being.’”
