Border patrol agents seized a massive amount of methamphetamine after a tractor-trailer was flagged for inspection while attempting to pass through the Rio Grande Valley section of the U.S.-Mexico border. The truck contained more than 1,400 bottles that looked like they contained Clorox bleach but were packed with liquid methamphetamine totaling more than 3,000 pounds.
Customs and Border Protection said the seizure was made on December 8 at the Falfurrias checkpoint. The disguised cargo, with a street value of more than $100 million, is reportedly the third-largest bust in the agency’s history. RGV Sector Chief Patrol Agent Gloria I. Chavez stated, “RGV Sector agents work diligently every day to interdict vehicles being used in human and drug smuggling events. This historical seizure is a prime example of our Agents’ efforts to continuously impact and degrade Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCO) exploiting the Rio Grande Valley.”

The seizure is another illustration of what is happening along the U.S.-Mexico border due to Biden’s failure to secure the border and address the crisis his immigration policies have caused. The administration claims that those who enter the country illegally are downtrodden people escaping political or other forms of persecution in their native countries and that most of them are innocent families looking for a better life. In the fall, Biden said that those crossing the border illegally were “fleeing communism.”
However, the open border allows dozens of people whose names are flagged on terror watch lists, along with “asylum seekers,” to seek protection in the United States. Cartel members, drug and human traffickers, and tens of thousands more “got-aways” whose names are still unknown, continue to enter the United States illegally at historic rates. Additionally, surges in crime and overdose fatalities result from the border crisis.
