Former Dem U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard Campaigns for GOP Kari Lake in AZ

Former U.S. Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard

According to NBC News, about endorsing Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake,  “Gabbard tweeted out a statement early Tuesday saying she looked forward to supporting Lake, who she said, ‘isn’t afraid to call out the elite cabal of permanent Washington and the military industrial complex and their propagandists in the mainstream media.’”

The Hill reported Gabbard “made her departure from the party clear as she began campaigning for Republicans within days, appearing on Monday with Don Bolduc, New Hampshire’s Republican Senate nominee.”

Rather than a commonsense “Democrat,” it seems Gabbard is a commonsense American. When the U.S. Army Reserve Lt. Colonel speaks about the United States, she fills her speeches with words about American traditions, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, sounding similar to most conservatives and libertarians. As Gabbard said, these are the “basics” America needs to return to, along with “objective truth.”

When introducing Lake at a campaign event in Chandler, Arizona, on Tuesday, according to the Washington Examiner, Gabbard said, “The basics are under attack. When we have people in power who deny the existence of objective truth, that leads to a very dangerous place because that means that whatever they say is true is what they will enforce through their laws.”

Gabbard told the crowd Lake was the “best prepared to lead the state of Arizona, noting that Democratic gubernatorial candidate Katie Hobbs has declined an opportunity to debate Lake.” Gabbard added, “Now is not the time for cowards.”

The former Hawai’i congresswoman said Hobbs is frightened to go “toe-to-toe with Kari,” afraid Lake will expose the weaknesses of Hobbs’ positions and convictions.
