Democrats pretend an affinity for the LGBTQ+etc community. Lots of identity victims. However, Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg is reportedly hindering a serial murder investigation with gay victims.
According to New York Post reporter Miranda Devine, “A gang that preys on gay men at Hell’s Kitchen nightclubs is suspected of killing at least two victims and of drugging and robbing more than a dozen other men — but Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office is impeding the investigation, law enforcement sources say.”
Why is Bragg silent when he should warn the community? Linda Clary, mother of 33-year-old victim John Umberger wonders too. She said, “Word needs to get out, especially in the gay community, that they are targeting gay men.… This same group of killers have drugged, robbed and murdered countless young gay men in New York.”
Her son’s body was discovered in an apartment owned by his employer. According to preliminary reports, the victim died of a drug overdose with evidence suggesting “they had been roofied…” [link added].
The victim’s mother disparages Bragg’s office but speaks glowingly of the NYPD detectives investigating her son’s murder. But she “accuses the District Attorney’s Office of ‘refusing to prosecute my son’s killers.”
Clary called New York City “unnecessarily unsafe…,” which she says “breaks my heart…” because her son loved visiting Manhattan.
She says there have been delays in the investigation like a “five-month delay in toxicology reports…,” which Devine describes as “a potential death sentence for future victims….”
A major issue is Bragg’s anti-prosecution philosophy, which has assistant DAs bailing out of the office.
Republican candidate for governor Lee Zeldin has promised to fire Bragg, which Clary feels “may be the last opportunity to hold my son’s killers accountable.”
Ironically, idiot-on-crime Gov. Hochul has been bolstered by media allies and gay supporters, ironically, “at a Stonewall event to try to rally LGBTQ turnout.”
Equal justice should be a prosecutor’s goal, but when a radical leftist DA ignores even favored constituents, is it ideology or incompetence—or both?
