Survey Finds Half of Americans Don’t Trust Mainstream News Media

A new survey didn’t ask how many Americans have wondered, over especially the last six years, how is this not news? Not only did the mainstream news media tout fake news, most notably the “Russian collusion hoax” against former President Donald Trump and his associates and the massive CCP virus media misinformation, but it also frustrated Americans by what news they didn’t cover.

According to National Review, “A new survey exploring the impact of media on democracy revealed that half of American respondents believe that national news organizations intend to mislead or misinform the public. About half of Americans said they do not trust the news media to be truthful. Republican distrust of national media has also increased, although to a lesser extent than independents. Nearly 80 percent of Republicans surveyed held unfavorable views of American media.”

For example, how was the information revealed by Hunter Biden’s former business partner Tony Bobulinski not news? FOX News’ Tucker Carlson interviewed him, and the information he provided was stunning. Bobulinski, as a former naval officer with firsthand knowledge about Chinese business dealings involving Hunter and Joe Biden, was exceptionally credible. But the MSM ignored the explosive news.

The Knight Foundation reported, “While 72% say national news organizations have the resources and opportunity to report the news accurately and fairly to the public, only 35% say most national news organizations can be relied on to deliver the information they need. Fifty percent of Americans feel most national news organizations intend to mislead, misinform or persuade the public.”

Ironically, media outlets that are considered some of the primary purveyors of fake news, like CNN, did report on the Knight Foundation survey. However, the more troubling aspect of the survey is that 50 percent of Americans apparently don’t believe the national news media “misleads” and “misinforms” the public.

Although, most of that 50 percent is comprised of Democrats, which makes the number of people surveyed who trust mainstream media news reporting more understandable. NR also reported, “Nearly 80 percent of Republicans surveyed held unfavorable views of American media….”
