Allyn Walkers, a transgender assistant professor of sociology and criminal justice at Old Dominion University, a public research university in Virginia, was put on leave after an interview surface showcasing Walker’s pro-pedophilia views. Walker was interviewed for the pedophilia organization Prostasia Foundation for an article discussing the possible adverse side effects for pedophiles who have to live with the “stigma.”

Walker wrote a pro-pedophilia book titled: A Long Dark Shadow: Minor Attracted People and Their Pursuit of Dignity. Minor Attracted People (MAP) is the new term progressives are coining to repackage the term pedophile into something that seems harmless or, in some situations, part of the victim class.

Walker talked to the pro-pedophilia organization about the harm the term “pedophile” can cause “non-offending minor-attracted persons.” This is a person who finds minors attractive but has not physically assaulted one yet. Walker was asked why it was important to use the term “MAP” instead of a pedophile.

“MAP advocacy groups like B4UAct have advocated for the use of the term, and they’ve advocated for it primarily because it’s less stigmatizing than other terms like ‘pedophile,’ ” Walker answered.

“I’ve definitely heard the idea that you brought up, though, that the use of the term minor-attracted person suggests that it’s okay to be attracted to children. But using a term that communicates who someone is attracted to doesn’t indicate anything about the morality of that attraction,” explained Walker to Prostasia.

The National Pulse originally reported the statement from Old Dominion University. The university wrote it was forced to place Allyn Walker on administrative leave effective immediately after the interview, and Walker’s pro-pedophilia views went viral. The statement released by Old Dominion University indicated “reactions to Dr. Walker’s research and book have led to concerns for their safety and that of the campus.”

“I want to state in the strongest terms possible that child sexual abuse is morally wrong and has no place in our society,” wrote President of Old Dominion Brian O. Hemphill, Ph.D. “This is a challenging time for our University, but I am confident that we will come together and move forward as a Monarch family.”

The university stated that putting Walker on administrative leave was “was motivated by our obligation to maintain a safe and conducive learning environment for our students, faculty, and staff.”
